KI Nursing and Care is led by Sitar and Sam, registered nurses who live and work on Kangaroo Island.
Sitar grew up on Kangaroo Island and chose to return with Sam to raise their family here. That connection to the island and its community is at the heart of KI Nursing and Care.
We understand the strengths and quirks of island life, including the distances, relationships and practical realities involved in arranging care. Together with our local team, we provide personal support shaped around each person, their family and their circumstances.
Our aim is simple: dependable care that helps people remain safe, independent and connected to their community.
How we can help
We work alongside your aged care provider, or with you if you manage your own care arrangements.
Private aged care is available, including while funding or provider arrangements are being organised.
Alongside your family and care team, we work with Kangaroo Island Health Service, Kangaroo Island Medical Clinic and its outreach posts, and other local health services.
Private nursing care is available for occasional or ongoing needs.
For locals and visitors, including NDIS participants. Funded support may be available through existing arrangements.
Private care is also available.
More about short-term care and respiteClinical knowledge to help you navigate the health system, make informed decisions and get the most from health services available on Kangaroo Island and the mainland.
An understanding of island life, its benefits and its quirks.
Care that respects your choices and circumstances.
Working openly with you and those in your support circle.
WHEN PLANS CHANGE—OR A BREAK IS NEEDED
Going away, visiting Kangaroo Island or arranging a break for your regular carer? We offer nursing care, medication administration, wellbeing checks and everyday assistance when regular support is unavailable or not yet in place.
Where funding arrangements allow, we can work with your aged-care provider or NDIS plan. Private care is also available.
Please contact us at least two to three weeks ahead to coordinate funding, care and staffing. More notice is always helpful.
Subject to availability and assessment of care needs. Medication administration requires appropriate, current medication information and instructions.
